Heineken R2-D2

Have I mentioned that I’ve been having dreams of drinking a cold, frothy beer? And I wake up happy and thirsty for more, only to realize that I still have at least 2 more months to go before I can indulge in my beer cravings?

(Yes, I’ve tried non-alcoholic beer. And yes, they suck donkey balls.)

Now I am convinced that designer Lockwasher has set out to tease me…

I wonder if I can convince J to smuggle a Guinness into the hospital so I can have a celebratory drink right after delivery….?

  1. Hey man, Guinness helps with milk production, so I say IMBIBE! Of course, I’m not a beer drinker (for the misery of my husband), so I didn’t try it, but word on the mom-street is it works!

I had beer cravings in my pregnancy too… and honestly, I started having sips of beer very late in my third trimester because I just couldn’t take it anymore. I don’t think it was harmful at that point, but every mom makes different decisions. But yeah, my husband had a six pack of my favorite beer waiting at home for me the day we were released from the hospital and I had one that night. :)

  3. I’m totally with you on missing the taste of beer. Especially in the summer, you just can’t beat one with certain foods. I’m planning on pumping, so I definitely intend to indulge in a beer or two once the baby comes out.

Are you a Heineken girl? I miss Newcastle myself.

@Amber — I’ve heard that too! I guess I need to start stocking up on those breast milk alcohol content test strips…

@MrsW — Haha believe me, I’m ALL FOR having an occasional beer, sushi (from reputable restaurants), etc now that I’m well into my third trimester, but it is my husband who is dead set against it. I swear that he’s gonna be the most protective father ever!

@Ashley — I’m a Heineken girl, but since I’ve started craving beer I’ve only been craving dark frothy beer like Guinness!

  6. Geek in Heels:

@belinda — I received your request and gave you access to my Private Posts. I’m not sure why you keep getting that message? I’ve never heard of that before…

  7. This is hilarious!! Your finds on these posts always make me smile.

  8. MrsW:

Haha, my husband was like that too — I would have had a whole dang sixpack if it hadn’t been for him!
