Reading this post at Gizmodo made me LOL. But at the same time, I was a bit confused, because I thought that most teens were not into Twitter. I guess it only goes to show the immense popularity of the Biebs.
P.S. — I still don’t really *get* Justin Bieber. Are any of my readers a fan? Do you have any songs you recommend I listen to in order to understand his appeal?

I couldn't recognize any Justin Bieber songs, but I have a dream about him the other night that involved Twitter. He tweeted that he was changing his name (to Justin Boober). I agree – I always see tweets about him – makes me feel too old to use Twitter, but most of the time around other users I feel too young!
I don't have Bieber Fever, but I get the appeal… as a 12 year old girl, I totally would have loved him. He's cute, talented (the kid CAN sing), and he seems like a nice kid. The one song I know of his ("Baby") is pretty catchy, though I hate to admit it. He was on Oprah last week and he performed live (and didn't skip a beat), danced through the whole number, and also played a fairly impressive drum solo. While his is definitely a carefully calculated career, I'd rather see him get fame and recognition over some one-trick pony who can't perform live or actually play any instruments. While his music may not be for everyone, at least he does seem to have some true, natural talent.
I don't get the traditional appeal of The Bieber, but after seeing this Funny or Die video, I loved him in my own special way.
I find him completely aggravating. That's just me though.
I in no way have "Bieber Fever", but I do like some of his songs. They're catchy and fun. He just seems like a cute little kid to me. However, my 16 year old sister despises him! She says that he's a silly baby (pretty sure he's 16 too, or darned close) and that he's not that cool. So not all young girls are in LURVE with him.
@brooke — Maybe that's my problem. Even as a teen, I was never attracted to the stars that regularly appeared on the covers of BOP and Tiger Beat (like JTT, Joey Lawrence, etc). I was more attracted to stars who were considerably older and more mature. I guess I'm just weird.
But I'm happy to read that you think Justin Bieber has some talent. I'll be sure to check out his tunes!
