Twaggies: Twitter Illustrated

Not unlike Missed Connections, Twaggies is a site that finds funny/interesting tweets and illustrates them to make them even more memorable. Bit Rebels says of the site: Twaggies is definitely one of those websites that you intend to check out for five minutes, and thirty minutes later you’re still laughing. Apparently, to get your tweet twagged (ahh.. a new Twitter word is born), you just have to follow @twaggies and then send some silly tweets that would make creative visuals. Is it just a coincidence that the latest Twaggie features none other than the supreme Sith Darth Vader? I think not. It is a definitive sign that I must add the site to my Google Reader. My 2 Seconds of Fame via Twitter

I have various Google Alerts set up for my name, my aliases, and their variations. About 50% of the time the alerts have nothing to do with me, but the other half can get pretty interesting. Most of the time I'll be flattered that someone chose to link to me, or find my stuff beneficial to their needs. I'll even saunter over to their sites to give a note of thanks, and I've made several online friends through this process. Once in a while I'll even find people trash-talking me, and while that used to bother me it no longer does — I think it's amusing that they don't have the guts to do that to my face (or on a...

Link Dump

Today is a typical day after a holiday weekend in that there were TONS of goodies to be read and discovered on my Google Reader. Instead of creating a separate post for each one of them, I've decided to do a monster round-up post of my favorite reads of the day. Some of these are a bit old (and by that, I mean about 12 hours old) but still deserving of mention. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!   How the Nursing Home for Superheroes Would Look LikeA funny but indefinitely sad sculpture of the lives of aged superheroes.   25 Blockbuster Movies Posters Recreated Using LegoA must-see for any Lego fans! My favorite? "The GodVader," of course.   Stoudemire has agreement with...

Twitter Wars [A Fun Waste of Time]

DotWar is a Flash-based game that lets you pit one Twitter icon against another in a brutal, all-out war. I quickly decided to sic my Twitter icon on J's, expecting my little guys to kick some major butt (operating under the false assumption that I would win since I have more followers). Alas it was not meant to be! J's icon quickly dispersed to follow a "divide and conquer" strategy, virtually rendering my icon defenseless. I repeated the war and even tried playing on manual mode, only to see the same dismal results. Sob. I only hope that some of my readers will have greater success in DotWars. Via Gizmodo. ...

Your Preferred Commenting Medium

If there is one thing that all bloggers have in common, it is that they want to be read. And let's face it; receiving comments can be pretty addictive too. It then comes as no surprise that you will find a blogger publicizing his/her site by linking to new posts via Facebook and Twitter. Heck, I'm guilty of this too — I used to post links to new entries on Facebook and Twitter. I no longer do this. Why? Because more often than not, I would receive more comments on Facebook or Twitter than on my blog. Am I the only blogger who has had this problem? I understand why people choose to comment on Facebook or Twitter instead of on the blog itself: convenience. But I personally prefer...
