Link Dump

Today is a typical day after a holiday weekend in that there were TONS of goodies to be read and discovered on my Google Reader. Instead of creating a separate post for each one of them, I've decided to do a monster round-up post of my favorite reads of the day. Some of these are a bit old (and by that, I mean about 12 hours old) but still deserving of mention. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!   How the Nursing Home for Superheroes Would Look LikeA funny but indefinitely sad sculpture of the lives of aged superheroes.   25 Blockbuster Movies Posters Recreated Using LegoA must-see for any Lego fans! My favorite? "The GodVader," of course. <a...

“Sookie…”

I know we're only two episodes in, but I'm loving the new season of True Blood so far. As someone who owns, and has read all the Southern Vampire Mysteries books, I can confidently say that the HBO series is significantly better than the books. There are, of course, some digressions and cast choices with which I disagree. (How exasperating was the Maryann plotline last season? Since I had so much fun talking about a teenage crush yesterday, I thought I would start today on another one: Uncle Jesse from Full House. Notice I said "Uncle Jesse," not "John Stamos." It's because I have a habit of falling for characters as opposed to the actors who portray them. (Hence my tendency to fall for animated characters as well. Hello, Gambit from X-Men and Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid!) And while I'm pretty sure that John Stamos is a typical celebrity, Uncle Jesse was a rebel with a heart of gold — a wild biker who gave up his bachelor life to help raise three little girls. And who can forget Uncle Jesse serenading Becky on their wedding day? I...

Psyched for “The Office” Baby Episode Tonight!

Yesterday, I received a sample diaper in the mail. I'm not sure where they got my name and address (probably from one of the many online pregnancy communities to which I belong), but the gesture was appreciated nonetheless. "Do you know how to change a diaper?" I asked J. "No." "Why don't you practice on this teddy bear? Or the dog?" He looked at me like I was crazy. Can you guess where I got the idea from? If you guessed the promo clip for tonight's The Office one-hour special event, you're correct! I am so, so excited to see Jim & Pam's baby. When I first became pregnant last August, one of the first things that popped into my head was, "Ooh, I'm gonna...
