Carolina Herrera has released a new foundation: the Nude Couture Triple Moisture Serum Foundation, and it just might be my HG base product. In other words, if I could design my own foundation — light to medium buildable coverage, glowy finish, lightweight, no scent, long-lasting — this would be it.
The Carolina Herrera foundation comes in 16 flexible shades and acts more like a skin tint/tinted moisturizer than a full-on foundation. The coverage is light but buildable to medium and it leaves a dewy finish. While some dewy/moisturizing foundations can emphasize the texture on my face, this foundation just leaves an airbrushed look that evens out my complexion without covering up too much.
While I had oily/combination skin in my younger years, with age my skin has become dry. I need all the moisture I can get and this foundation certainly delivers:
Micronized shea butter provides weightless, long-lasting hydration, while panthenol and glycerin help prevent moisture loss by forming a lightweight skin barrier that retains skin’s hydration. Avocado-oil coated pigments make coverage more lightweight and seamless when blended into skin. Jasmine extract is known for its radiance-boosting properties.
I guessed my shade based on the swatches online and I chose correctly. The shade F160 is for fair skin with yellow undertones and while it isn’t an exact match, the foundation is sheer enough that it blends perfectly into my skin.

Other products used (some of the linked products are affiliate links, meaning I get commission for purchases or clicks made through those links in this post.):
- Saint Jane Luxury Sun Ritual Pore Smoothing Face Sunscreen SPF 30 (the best sunscreen/primer I’ve found)
- Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Lift & Flex Hydrating Concealer in shade 3 (my HG concealer)
- Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Contour Powder in shade Medium
- Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette in Diffused Rose
- Kosas Brow Pop Nano Ultra-Define Detailing + Feathering Eyebrow Pencil in Brown Black
- Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in 20 Espresso
- Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Washable Mascara in Blackest Black
- Etude Dear Darling Water Tint in Cherry Ade
- Nars Light Reflecting Hydrating Makeup Setting Mist (I don’t understand why this product is not more popular. It leaves the most beautiful glowy finish without disturbing the makeup underneath, which a lot of glowy setting sprays unfortunately do)
As you can see, the Carolina Herrera foundation leaves a smooth, healthy-looking finish without covering up too much. In places I want more coverage, I simply apply an additional layer and the foundation delivers without leaving a cakey mess.
Does the Caroline Herrera foundation last all day? Well, at about the 5-6 hour mark it does start to fade. It doesn’t separate or cake up or settle into lines — it fades without looking splotchy or ugly. Here is a shot I took 5 hours after applying my makeup:
As you can see, the foundation has faded a bit on my cheeks and around my nose. But it has faded in a natural, almost pretty way. And just to push it a bit further, here’s a picture taken 10 hours after first applying my makeup:
I was working outside today in the heat so I sweat quite a bit. I’ve also applied another lip product, the Chanel Le Rouge Due Ultra Tenue in Red Brown. As you can see the Carolina Herrera foundation stayed on well still looks pretty at the end of the day.
At $70 the Carolina Herrera Nude Couture Triple Moisture Serum Foundation is by no means inexpensive. But it performs so well and is everything I look for in a foundation. I have very well found my new HG foundation and I’m so happy I decided to snatch it up at Nordstrom’s before they sold out.
